A doctoral thesis in the private branch of the College of Law at the University of Karbala discussed the double insurance contract – a comparative study, submitted by the student Muhammad Jawad Mandhour.
The study aimed to clarify the most important issues related to double insurance, starting from its concept and scope, through the reasons for its emergence and ways to get rid of it, reaching its provisions and the effects it leaves behind.
The study reached many conclusions, the most prominent of which is that double insurance must be surrounded by clear and explicit regulation, to prevent the insurer from exploiting the opportunity in double insurance to evade his responsibilities towards the insured, in addition to the existence of a set of conditions that must be met together for the insurance to be considered double, and these conditions were distributed into personal conditions and objective conditions.
