As part of the specialized training course organized by the Human Rights Division at the University of Karbala Presidency, Assistant Professor Dr. Ishraq Sabah, Head of the Legal Consultations Unit at the University Presidency and Head of the Private Law Department at the College of Law, delivered a lecture on “The Right of Future Generations to a Clean Environment.”
The lecture addressed the essential relationship between human rights and sustainable development, focusing on the right to a healthy environment as a fundamental human right and the importance of protecting this right not only for current generations but also for future generations.
Dr. Sabah discussed the legal and ethical dimensions of this right in light of global environmental challenges, emphasizing the responsibility of states and institutions to adopt sustainable development policies that conserve resources and protect the environment.
