Our college hosted the professor of civil law at the College of Law at the University of Baghdad, Assistant Professor Dr. Lubna Abdul Hussein, to participate in the committee to discuss a master’s thesis in the private law branch on the obligation to causation in the contract – a comparative study, submitted by the student Haider Abdul Zahra Sakr.

The study aimed to know what is meant by the obligation to causation in the contract, and whether there are alternative means for this obligation, in addition to determining the moment in time at which the contracting party is obligated to causation towards the other contracting party, and to know if there is a specific form for this obligation.

The study concluded that the meaning of causation differs according to the situation in which it is used, even in the science of law itself. The researcher did not find in the legislative texts under study a definition of the obligation to causation in the contract, in addition to the fact that the importance of the obligation to causation appears in the contract in protecting the rights of the contracting parties.
