The College of Law / University of Karbala discussed a master’s thesis entitled (Preventive Criminal Policy in the Law of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, a comparative study), which was submitted by a master’s student in the Public Law Branch (Sana Rahim Salman)
The message aimed to find preventive criminal provisions under the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017.
The researcher shed light on the concept of that policy, its means, and the extent to which Iraqi law responded to it, comparing it with the Egyptian and Algerian laws mainly with reference to some other Arab and Western laws.
The study concluded that it is necessary to adopt the Egyptian and Algerian law trends and fill the shortfall in Iraqi legislation to build a good preventive criminal policy to reduce drug and psychotropic crimes.
The letter was approved with very good grades.
